Rights
On February 4th, Matthew Probst granted permission on behalf of Gypsy Lumberjacks to host recordings on the Live Music Archive:
Gypsy Lumberjacks (www.gypsylumberjacks.com) is a Minneapolis, MN acoustic
band. I speak for them as their cellist and as the person handling their
official live recordings.
We would love for fans to make video and audio recordings of our shows. We
make many official show recordings ourselves, but we do not restrict others
from doing the same. Any live recordings at our shows can be distributed
through archive.org.
There are two restrictions on recording, and one disclaimer. They are in
the spirit of only promising things we can control, rather than arbitrary
restriction.
First restriction: Some performance venues have their own restrictions
against live recording on the premises, and those restrictions trump our own
interests. We ask that tapers respect the rules in such venues.
Second restriction: We can not guarantee board taps to tapers, because we
often use the venue's sound board and engineer and therefore do not always
have authority to do so.
Disclaimer: The band members can only directly control their own actions;
be mindful of your gear and where you set up. For example, a microphone
stand in the middle of the dance floor stands a good chance of getting
knocked over by dancers.
